A woman in Costa Rica is helping light up the dark areas of the forests with natural resources such as solar energy. With the help of the Y Service Club of Owen Sound, Ontario, she has involved herself into a project to help bring energy to the people in the forest but in an ecological way. The main organization behind this is called Light Up the World, which finds in 64-year-old Sharon Raines a self motivated "agent" that helps the project to become reality in as many areas as possible by teaching and instructing the people of the community on how to assemble and take advantage of this energy source.

Scientists have studied the impact of recovering forests in the existing environment with good results.
