Drake Bay is an area rich in wildlife and also in history; named after Sir Francis Drake, a British sailor who stopped here during his 16th century global circumnavigation. The bay curves around the northern edge of the Osa Peninsula, world renowned for the magnificent Corcovado National Park as well as nearby Cano Island, which is also steeped in history.
