Casa Corcovado Lodge

Island Adventures (4 days / 3 nights) - From $759 €577 £476

The closest lodge to the Corcovado National Park, Casa Corcovado Lode is ideally situated for nature lovers and jungle explorers who wish to uncover the natural beauty hidden in this isolated national park, one of the most important and wildlife rich in Costa Rica.

The Osa Peninsula is a region of Costa Rica that is packed full of natural attractions. The national park is home to one of the last remaining primary tropical forests in Central America and contains a huge number of birds and other wildlife. Meanwhile, the nearby Cano Island is renowned for its coral reefs which provide a home to several threatened marine species plus shelter for fish, dolphins and whales which can often be spotted in the waters here.
Hidden amongst the foliage of this rich jungle and cooled by the gentle sea breezes of the Pacific Ocean, lies the charming and stylish Casa Corcovado Jungle Lodge. The 170-acre private reserve borders Corcovado National Park and was meticulously designed and constructed by an American naturalist with over thirty years of local experience.

Your visit to this idyllic sanctuary will be enhanced by the spring fed swimming pool, the beautifully furnished rooms and the delectable cuisine of “Los Vitrales” restaurant, all sure to create the perfect Costa Rica vacation.

Itinerary and Prices

Day 1: Arrival to Corcovado National Park
  • The Osa Peninsula’s remoteness is one of its major attractions, and it means your transfer from San Jose will begin with a short flight to Plamar Sur, a small town on the peninsula’s northern gateway.
  • You will board a boat for the one and a half hour journey to the lodge, at the edge of Corcovado National Park and passing great stretches of mangrove forest along the way.
  • You will be greeted at the lodge by its smiling staff and a welcome cocktail, before sitting down for lunch at the lodge’s excellent restaurant. You will be able to spend the afternoon enjoying the lodge’s nature trails in the surrounding jungle or relaxing on its gorgeous stretch of beach. That evening you will enjoy a delicious evening meal at the restaurant.
Day 2: Isla Del Cano National Park Tour
  • After enjoying a full breakfast at the lodge you will be taken across 10 miles of sparkling ocean to Cano Island, an image of tropical paradise which juts out into the warm ocean and is laden with dense, wildlife rich jungle and intriguing remnants of lost civilizations.
  • Accompanied by an expert, bilingual guide, you will explore this peaceful island and its many hidden attractions. Don a pair of flippers and a snorkel and try to spot the threatened lobster and conch species in the shallow waters then marvel at the perfectly carved granite spheres that a pre-Colombian civilization left dotted across the island.
  • You will stop for a picnic lunch before enjoying some more time to relax on the beach in the perfect Costa Rica weather.
  • After your day on the island and while you zip across the water back to the lodge, try to spot one of the many dolphins and whales that call this patch of the Pacific home.
  • Returning to the lodge you will spend the evening soaking up the tranquility of your environment and enjoying a meal in the lodge’s excellent restaurant.
Day 3: Corcovado National Park Tour
  • Fill up on a hearty breakfast before heading out, again by boat, into Corcovado National Park, one of the most isolated and therefore untouched national parks in Costa Rica. But the superlatives do not end there: it is also the country’s last major expanse of moist tropical forest, is the largest primary forest on the entire Pacific American coastline, has the country’s biggest population of scarlet macaws and is one of the last remaining habitats for the highly endangered harpy eagle.
  • Your full day tour of the park will include two hikes, accompanied by a professional naturalist guide who will help you spot and identify the creatures in the branches above.
  • You will stop for a picnic lunch before following a jungle trail that eventually leads to a set of hidden waterfalls, stopping for a swim in the refreshing waters.
  • After your long day of jungle exploration, you will be grateful for the comfortable and relaxing surroundings of the Casa Corcovado Lodge and will enjoy yet another delicious meal in the restaurant.
Day 4: Departure from Corcovado National Park
  • After a full breakfast, you will have some time to enjoy the beautiful beach before your transfer back to the airport where you may continue your journey within Costa Rica or go on to one of our many South American destinations, or return home.
